History

Westfield Oakridge opened in 1971 with Macy's, Bullock's, and Montgomery Ward anchors. Bullock's closed down Northern California in 1983 and sold Oakridge's location to Nordstrom; which opened in the building in 1985. Nordstrom opened a new department store at the competitive Fair Valley shopping center in 1987, and the two stores existed simultaneously until 1994 when Nordstrom closed Oakridge's store and sold it to Sears.

Montgomery Ward's bankruptcy in 2001 left an empty slot at Oakridge, originally intended to be occupied by The Great Indoors, a Sears home furnishing concept. Instead, the building was empty until 2003, when the building was demolished and replaced by a two-tier Target store. At the same time, Macy added 75,000 square feet to the existing footprint, bringing the total square footage to over 220,000 square feet.

Westfield started a $ 150 million multi-phase expansion in Summer 2002 and completed in late 2003. The 300,000-square-foot expansion adds two new junior anchors - Linens n 'Things and Borders bookshops, and Century 20 cinema screens and great pujasera. A series of restaurants with The Cheesecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen, BJ Restaurant & amp; Brewhouse, P.F. Chang's China Bistro, and Buca di Beppo outperform the new wings facing Blossom Hill Road.

The bankruptcy and final closure of Borders and Linens n 'Things caused two new junior anchors in the center: Nordstrom Rack opened in place of Linens n' Things, while Forever 21 moved from a smaller in-line space to the former Borders store. H & amp; M of 20,000 square feet opened in 2011, taking over one of the hallways of the mall and several tenant halls in the process.

Westfield purchased the Sears building at Oakridge and two other properties in May 2017.

On January 4, 2018, it was announced that Sears would be closed as part of a plan to close 103 stores nationwide. Shop closed end of March 2018.
