A motivational poster, or an inspirational poster , is a type of poster typically designed for use in schools and offices.

The point of a motivational poster is to get people to reach more, or think differently about things they might learn or do.
This is not how everyone sees such a poster. Art Petty, for example, in discussing writing innovations that " can not be mandated or enacted, and is certainly not inspired by the company motivational poster ". CBS News concludes that modern motivational posters "are directed more toward things that need to be done than good things to believe".

Effects
Motivational posters can have behavioral effects. For example, Mutrie and Blamey, from the University of Glasgow and the Greater Glasgow Health Council, found in one study that the placement of their motivational posters promoting the use of stairs in front of escalators and parallel stairs, at underground stations, doubled the number of stairs. All of these studies support the finding that these motivational posters, placed at the point of decision, can have behavioral effects, with this effect falling back to zero gradually over the next few weeks after the removal of the poster.
