A stunner is a generic term in professional wrestling that refers to the sitout Ã,¾ facelock jawbreaker maneuver. It was innovated by Mikey Whipwreck who called it Whipper-Snapper , but it was popularized by Stone Cold Steve Austin, who faced Whipwreck at the Wrestling Extremic Championships. The move was named for Austin Cold Stunner Austin's finisher . This involves wrestling attackers using a three-quarter facelock (grabbing back and grabbing the opponent's head, thus pulling the opponent's jaw over the wrestler's shoulder) before falling into a sitting position and forcing the opponent's jaw (but especially the opponent's neck) to drop on the attacked wrestler's shoulders. Free hands are sometimes used to hold the top of the head.

Backpack stunner

Also known as piggyback stunner, in this high stanza variation, the opponent was first raised in a piggy-back position. From here, wrestlers attack applying a three-quarters facelock and descend to a sitting position while still holding the opponent's head to force them into the stunner. Charlotte Flair uses this as his signature on NXT.

Dive opening bottle opener

The pretty version of Bucket Moon is when a wrestler breaks away from the top ropes and does a bottle opener. Upon completion of the corkscrew, while still in the air wrestlers attack applying a three-quarter facelock to the opponent while falling into a sitting position to complete the gorgeous. This version is also known as "O-Face" during the Moon's time on independent circuits such as Athens and as Eclipse on WWE.

Elevated stunner

With the opponent placed on a higher surface, the wrestler implements a three-quarter facelock and then pulls the opponent away, leaving only the opponent's foot above the elevated surface. The wrestler then falls into a sitting position so that the opponent is forced to dive forward on the shoulders of the wrestling attack. It is believed to have more impact because the angle of his opponent is dropped. Elevated enthusiasts can also be performed as a two-team movement.

Fireman brings stunner

Also known as Total Knock Out or TKO for short, this is a high stanza variation where the opponent is first lifted over the shoulders of the wrestler in the fireman's position. From here, the wrestler attacks the opponent's throws out backwards and down onto the mattress while holding the opponent's head to force them into the stunner. The name initially refers to the cutter variation. Since then this name is used to refer to both types.

Forward somersaults

Standing Variation of Diamond Dust in which the first attacking wrestler holds the opponent in the reverse facelock before then jumps forward to somersault the opponent, landing in a sitting position with the opponent's head pushed into the shoulder of the wrestler.

Front color facelock

In this variation, the wrestler first applied the front facelock, before spinning 180 degrees to bring himself into a three-quarter facelock position and dropped into a sitting position, forcing the opponent's jaw to fall on the shoulders of the wrestling attack. Jeff and Rebecca Hardy use variants, also called Twist of Fate , along with more familiar cutter variations.

Invasive extraordinary backs

This variation sees wrestlers applying reverse facelocks on opponents before hooking up their tight pants and lifting them straight into the air so they are reversed. The wrestlers then let the opponent's body fall backward over their shoulders as in an inverted suplex, and when the opponent's foot lands on the mat, the wrestler descends to a sitting position to force the opponent's jaw to fall on the shoulders of the wrestling attack.

Jumping stunner

Similar in execution with a jumping cutter, this version sees a wrestler attacking in front of an opponent, then jumps and grabs an opponent in the facelock three quarters and falls into the gorgeous.

Rolling stunner

This version sees wrestlers attacking the opponent's first place (which is in front of them) on the reverse facelock before rolling away under the opponent, spinning both wrestlers so that the opponent can fall into the stunner. Frankie Kazarian used this step as the finisher, calling it the "Ace of Spades" .

Running stunner

Similar in execution to the running cutters, the gorgeous walk is where the wrestling attackers run into disturbed opponents and grab the opponent in the three-quarter facelock and drop down into the stunner

Springboard stunner

This variation sees the wrestling attack jumping into the rope, followed by a wrestler who jumps from the rope back to the opponent and hits the beautiful. This move has been innovated by John Cena. There is also a variation of corkscrew used as a finisher by Flip Gordon, calling it a Star-Spangled Stunner.

Tilt-a-whirl stunner

Often used as a counter to a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, this variant sees a wrestler attacking in a Tilt-a-whirl position, but instead of being lifted and slammed into the knee or into the mat, the attacker reaches back and implements a three-quarter facelock before falling into a sitting position, with the opponent's jaw impacting with the wrestler's shoulder. British independent wrestler Lana Austin uses this step as a finisher, calling it Kiss of Death.

Vertical suplexner

This increase first sees wrestlers attacking applying front facelocks, hooks arms near opponents above their shoulders and lifting them as for standard vertical supplements. However, in the middle of the move, wrestlers attack forcing an opponent to turn 180 degrees and then applying a three-quarter facelock, forcing the opponent to flop with their jaws on the attacking wrestler's shoulders as they fall into a sitting position to hit the stunner. Innovated and popularized by Masato Tanaka as Shotgun Stunner.

Stunner cart

Often used as a counter for a wheelbarrow facebuster, this variant sees a wrestler attacking in the wagon position, but instead of being lifted and slammed onto the mat, the attacker reaches back and implements a three-quarter facelock before falling into a sitting position, with the opponent's jaw impacting with the wrestler's shoulders.
