Tumi Holdings, Inc. , is a high-end luggage and bag manufacturer in South Plainfield, New Jersey, for traveling. Founded in 1975 by Charlie Clifford after serving at the Peace Corps in Peru, the company was named after a Peruvian ceremonial knife used for sacrifice. Tumi, Inc. is Doughty Hanson & amp; Co. from 2004 to after the initial public offering of 2012.

Tumi products are known for their black ballistic nylon. Tumi is available at department stores and specialty stores as well as over 120 Tumi stores and 200 stores in stores around the world.
