The Volkswagen Caddy is a recreational activity vehicle (M-segment) produced by Volkswagen Group since 1980. It is sold in Europe and in other markets around the world. Volkswagen Caddy was first introduced in North America in 1980 and in Europe in 1982. The second generation also has a pick-up variant.

The Caddy came to fruition when Volkswagen was experimenting with Golf derivatives, estate and pickups.
Volkswagen of America was interested in pickups, and Volkswagen released the Volkswagen Rabbit Pickup in North America, produced at the Volkswagen Westmoreland Assembly Plant in Pennsylvania from 1978 to 1984. Levels of pruning like LX and Sportruck are available.
In North America, Caddy comes with two engine options. Diesel 1.5L and 1.7L gasoline. One of the unique features of diesel is that it comes with a five-speed gearbox, with 5 gears labeled as "E" or "Economy". The Caddy was not actually called the Caddy until 1982 when it was released in Europe.
Volkswagen Rabbit Pickup competed with other coupe utilities, such as Ford Courier and Subaru BRAT, at the time.

Note: The electronic differential key (EDL) used by Volkswagen does not - as the name implies - a differential lock at all. Third generation ( Typ 2K; 2003-present)
The third generation Volkswagen Caddy debuted in late 2003, at the RAI Commercial Vehicle Show in Amsterdam, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles debuted 2K Caddy van panel.
The Typ 2K shares 50% of its modules with Volkswagen Golf Mk5 and Volkswagen Touran. The new Caddy model has a more aerodynamic design, the angle of the windshield and the A pillar is more horizontal, making the dash larger and the bonnet smaller.
The full Caddy lined up is quite versatile. There are two body sizes: "normal" and Maxi. It can be configured as Van Panel, Van Window Panel, Kombi (spartan passenger version), Caddy Life (family version), and Camping version called Caddy Tramper or Caddy Life Camper.
Caddy Life or Kombi can accommodate up to five in two lines while Caddy Life Maxi or Kombi Maxi can occupy up to seven in three lines. The difference in road noise between the two is described by some as substantial.
In 2015, a Volkswagen Caddy cab was badly damaged when TransAsia Flight 235 cut it before it hit a river in Taiwan. The passengers in the taxi are not killed.
Caddy Panel (2010-present)
The Caddy Panel grows in size over Caddy Typ 9K, measures length 4405 mm, width 1802 mm, height 1833 mm, wheelbase 2682 mm, has 750 kg payload, and 3.2 m < > 3 .
The current form of Caddy's Typ , sold in Europe since 2003, is a recreational activity vehicle with the Volkswagen Golf Mk5 front suspension. Facelift
2010
At the end of 2010, Caddy experienced a facelift to fit the new design language of Volkswagen vehicles. The changes include the front with a new headlamp and grille from the Touran Mk2, which is similar to the Volkswagen Golf Mk6.
2015
