Voss is the Norwegian water bottle brand from VatnestrÃÆ'¸m village in Iveland municipality, Aust-Agder region. Contrary to popular belief, the water is not bottled in the Voss municipality, which is more than 400 kilometers (250 miles) from the actual bottling point. It is available in both silent and shiny form.

In 2016, majority control of Voss was acquired by Reignwood Group, a Chinese company. The current VOSS chairman is John Shulman and VOSS's current Vice President is Please Ruayrungruang.

Voss is bottled by Voss from Norway ASA, an American Limited Company headquartered in New York City. Water is marketed in more than 50 countries, with a special focus in the United States.

In 2007, the magazine Women's Health rated first among several bottled water by water experts. For entertainment on television, a test sponsored by the Finnish national broadcaster Yle, three blind wine experts judged the lowest Voss water from six tested waters, including Helsinki's public tap water.

The company's cylindrical glass bottle is designed by Neil Kraft. Voss claims its manufacturing process is completely carbon neutral. In some countries including the US, UK and Australia, VOSS still water is also packed in plastic bottles that retain the cylinder design.

Bottling Source Controversy

In October 2010, Norwegian TV 2 reported that Voss had the same source of tap water from the city's water supply in Iveland and, contrary to Voss's marketing, it was not artesian. TV 2 continues to maintain this claim despite Voss objections.
