Dame Barbara Windsor , (born Barbara Ann Deeks ; August 6, 1937) is an English actress, known for her appearances in the movie Carry On and for playing Peggy Mitchell on the soap opera BBC One EastEnders . He joined EastEnders players in 1994 and won the 1999 British Soap Award for Best Actress before finally leaving the show in 2016.

Windsor began his career on stage in 1950 at age 13 and made his debut film at The Belles of St. Trinian's (1954). He received a BAFTA Award nomination for the movie Sparrows Can not Sing (1963), and Tony Award for the Broadway 1964 production of Oh, What A Lovely War! . In 1972, he starred in Vanessa Redgrave in the production of the West End from The Threepenny Opera . Between 1964 and 1974, it appeared in nine films Carry On , including Carry On Spying (1964), Carry On Doctor < i> Carry On Camping (1969), Carry On Henry (1971) and Carry On Abroad (1972). He also participated in the 1977 compilation of Carry On It Continues! .

Carry On films

Relationships and private life

Windsor has been married three times, but has no children.

Before marrying Ronnie Knight, he has one night standing with the famous East End gangster Reggie Kray and having an affair again with his brother, Charles Kray. When married to Knight, he has a publicized relationship with actor Sid James; Knight is said to have threatened James with violence. Another of Windsor's coalition stars, Kenneth Williams, accompanies him and Ronnie Knight on their honeymoon. During the 1960s, he had a brief relationship with footballer George Best.

In his 2000 autobiography, All of Me, Windsor spoke of his five abortions, the first three being in his twenties and last when he was 42 years old. He said he never wanted children as a result of his father rejecting him after his parents' divorce.
