Design

The CP1 gun is intended as a hidden carrying gun for law enforcement and civilian use. It has an unusual and sleek design with a polymer frame and more unusual security, located at the front of the triggers.

In some reviews it is characterized as a radically designed weapon that looks like something straight out of a science fiction movie. These reviews state that he does not have sharp edges, and is almost as "unbreakable" as any combat rifle can exist, and because of his design, the rifle is very comfortable to shoot, which makes it feel very ergonomic.

The gun was originally sold in the United States at a retail price of about $ 400. The gun was marketed in Italy, where it was a booth for an IMi 9ÃÆ'â € "21mm cartridge.

CP1 uses a gas-delayed blowback action with a gas cylinder located below the barrel. The trigger is a single action, an internal hammer.

Manual security is located on the front of the trigger guard. To set on Safe, a button must be pushed backwards from the front; to start a fire, the button must be pressed forward from inside the trigger guard.

The gun is equipped with automatic trigger security. Magazines are double stacks; 10 & amp; The 12-round magazine fits the bottom of the handle, the 13-round magazine has extended the fingers at the bottom.

LIW developed version 0.40 S & amp; W caliber CP1, known as CP1N. It is not known whether CP1N is actually produced.

Call back

In October 2000 a withdrawal notice was issued for Vector CP1, as a minority of them had problems with internal safety mechanisms and, when dropped, could have inadvertently fired. The recall states that the loaded gun can be detached if it is knocked or crashed. The information accompanying the withdrawal notice states that the gun shall not be loaded under any circumstances; Although some gun experts and fans may regard such memories as unnecessary for the defects mentioned, Denel may take steps to prevent accidents that may result in a lawsuit, since the primary export market of the CP1 Vector pistol is the United States.

The recall ended promising sales in the US, and stopped the life of this pistol in the market, although most of the CP1 pistols handed out from South African customers were repaired and returned to their owners. The inability to repair and return a defective handgun from overseas markets is probably the reason behind the Vector's decision to pay $ 500 to anyone who handed over their weapon, and to put the CP1 pistol out of production in 2001.

It is estimated that about 2,000 pistols are sold in the United States before the recall. Most of that amount was turned over, and guns are now very rare in the United States. They are available in very limited quantities in South Africa and other countries.
